During sunrise hours, the trails tend to be crowded, and parking spaces at trailheads can fill up quickly. Moreover, there’s a risk of not being allowed to park at Pico do Arieiro due to the high volume of vehicles.
- Opting for Sunset: Instead of sunrise, consider starting your hike around midday and aim to catch the sunset at Pico Ruivo. Not only will you encounter fewer hikers on the trails, but you’ll also have the opportunity to witness the breathtaking sunset with fewer crowds. If you prefer, you can drive separately to Pico do Arieiro for the sunset, as parking availability tends to improve later in the day.
